The monthly hills ride is held on the last Sunday of each month and heads out into
the Surrey Hills. Needless to say this is a more challenging ride as it involves a few climbs. We have two routes currently which alternate. Both are around 90-100kms and have between 800 and 1000 meters of climbing.
This route heads out along Critten lane and down White Down before heading over Leith hill. The café stop is at Tanhurst farm which at around three quarters of the way round is after most of the climbing is done.
This heads out in a similar way before taking a more westerly direction from the
bottom of the White down descent. It heads through Holmbury St Mary to the café stop at
the Milk Churn in Rudgwick (about half way round). It then heads back through Cranleigh
and over the Coombe Bottom climb.
Both routes can be easily adapted to allow more climbing – Barhatch anyone?
